Hey, Hey, HEY!
How’s that for an intro? Here’s the second part of that November list I promised, so ENJOY!
Animal Crossing : City Folk & Wii Speak (11/16, Wii) – There was something quite addictive about the original and it’s handheld counterpart (Wild World). So much so, that I had logged countless hours into it…and even my Mom did as well! Yes, my Mom who didn’t play video games at all had started her own town and put atleast as much time into it as I had. It was just so appealing, the towns were like living and breathing things that went on with or without you. I have since moved on from Animal Crossing, but here’s hoping that the newest version with have the same allure as the original when I first started. City Folk will also be the first to use the new Wii Speak microphone released the same day. The city area should be a pretty nice addition, but we’ll have to see what exactly is new besides the usual stores. At the very least it should be easier to visit other people’s towns now thanks to the good ol’ WiiConnect24.
Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe (11/16, 360, PS3) – DC characters with fatalities?!?!? That’s right, whether you love it or hate it, these 2 universes are about to collide. I’ve never really been too much into fighting games but I do own a couple of the older Mortal Kombats. I’m not really sure what to think about classic Mortal Kombat characters pitted against super heroes. Might be an entertaining match-up…we’ll just have to see.
Left 4 Dead (11/18, PC, 360) – Ah, do zombie games ever get boring? As a survival horror fan, I say hell NO. Left 4 Dead is the newest Valve Source game and focuses on the co-op and team based (survivors vs. zombies) side of the apocalypse. 4 Survivors against waves of the undead? Bring it on! I do enjoy how this game is very much horror film inspired as well (see the Infected for some more info). The only thing left to do is decide whether to go for the PC or 360 version. Decisions, decisions…
Metal Slug 7 (11/18 – DS, TBA – XBLA) – First in the series not to have an arcade version (sorry arcade fans). The release date for the XBLA version is still TBA so you’re SOL if you don’t have a DS right now (enough acronyms for ya?). Not much else to say but more Metal Slug is welcome any time IMO (ok, I’ll stop now).
Sonic Unleashed (11/18 – PS2, Wii, 11/24 – 360) – Should be titled “The Beast Within”. This newest installment of the Sonic series features a transformable Werehog (har, har) as the result of corrupted emeralds. Sonic the Werehog only comes out during the night levels of the game (of course, duh). Also promising seemless transition between “behind-the-back” and side-scrolling areas during the game. Sonic games have been kind of flaky lately but maybe there’s still hope…maybe.
Castlevania : Judgment (11/18, Wii) – See my older post for this one.
So there you have it, my coverage for the month of November.
I’ve kind of adopted Monday as my main update days as well (don’t ask me why because I honestly don’t know), so expect atleast one post a week on the aforementioned days (more if I can get out of the laziness).
Also finally got my copy of Gears of War 2 today after waiting almost a week for it in the mail…hell yeah. I’d love to get in some co-op, so hit me up if you’re interested. You know the username…
So until next time,
DGM-payne
P.S. – 1.5 weeks until the “New Xbox Experience”, seems like we’ve been waiting freakin forever for it now.
