September Wrap-up!

Happy first day of Fall to everyone! Yep, it’s officially here…

Since we’re also well into the last full week of September, I figured we should take a look at some of the releases upcoming before the end. No?

Batman and Robin to the rescue!

Batman and Robin to the rescue!

Lego Batman (Multi)Hitting stores tomorrow the 23rd – I’ve mentioned it before, I’m a HUGE lego fan and the past lego games have been nothing short of amazing for me. I’ll probably be picking up a 360 copy again (as with the past lego games) because I’m a bit of an achievement whore. It’ll also be available for just about everything else as well (Wii, ds, ps2, psp, ps3, pc…did I miss anything?).

Wii-raca!

Samba De Amigo (Wii)Also hitting stores tomorrow – Never played the original for Dreamcast, but I’ve heard good things. I’ve never been into music games too much, but I’ll try some here and there. I mean, this is the kind of stuff the Wii remote + Nunchuck’s motion sensors where designed for, right? No extra kinds of controllers necessary. Perfect. Of course, they also sell the aesthetic maraca attachments as well if you wanna go all out with it.

It's time to kick ass and chew bubble gum...and I'm all outta gum!

Duke Nukem 3D (360)XBLA version the 24th – I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: I’ve always been a Nukem fan and I’ll definately be grabbing this one on the arcade. You should too if you’re a Nukem fan at all, especially if you wanna get in on the multiplayer.

Harvest Moon: Tree of Tranquility (Wii)30th – To be quite honest, I haven’t been keeping up with the harvest moon games since around the time of the ps2 and gba releases. I’ve always been a fan of the series since the second game, released on the N64. Never got a chance to own the original snes version, and now it’s rare as hell. Atleast I can play it on my Wii 🙂 . Anyways, I’ve also noticed that about half the games released are just rehashes (especially the 2d ones), so I don’t feel too bad about not owning them all. I do feel that the 3d versions have been getting better and I might just have to check out the first to hit the Wii.

Silent Hill: Homecoming (360 and PS3)30th – I’m first and foremost a true Resident Evil fan, but the Silent Hill series also holds a special place for me. That’s why I really hope the new team did a good job on this. Promising an all new combat system (featuring attacks and counters) and more history behind the town, they have big shoes to fill. Also the first Silent Hill to hit the next-gen consoles. I was glad to hear atleast that Akira Yamaoka would be returning to compose the soundtrack again. The man did an awesome with the past games. I also hear Pyramid Head is back as well, which is pretty nice in of itself. I’ll be picking this one up for the 360 since I don’t even have a PS3 yet 😐 .

That’s about all I wanted to cover…oh, and a new Wario game hit stores today for the Wii. It’s no Warioware but I might just check it out.

With the holiday season upcoming though, plenty more awesome games are on the horizon…

In other (kinda) related news, commercials for the Max Payne movie are starting to play. Hitting theatres October 17th, a few days before my birthday, I hope it doesn’t disappoint me TOO much (Who knows? It MIGHT even be half decent…). I wouldn’t want my Max Payne fan heart broken. More news on the movie later hopefully.

Until next time,

DGM-payne
